VGLAWYERS acted as legal advisor to the Technical Consultant of HELLINIKON METRO for the Thessaloniki Metro Project

VGLAWYERS proudly announces its involvement as legal advisor to the Technical Consultant of the Thessaloniki Metro, a transformative infrastructure project that officially commenced operations on November 30, 2024. This monumental milestone marks the completion of the basic metro line, enhancing urban mobility and solidifying Thessaloniki’s position as a modern European city. The inaugural line spans 9.6 kilometers, connecting 13 stations from the New Railway Station to Nea Elvetia.

Over the past four years, VGLAWYERS acted as the trusted legal advisor to the Joint Venture 3TS CONSULTANTS, the Technical Consultant of HELLINIKON METRO overseeing the completion of the metro’s basic line.

Currently, VGLAWYERS serves as legal advisor to the new Technical Consultant, the Joint Venture SALFO-HILL-SETEC, for the extension of the line towards the east. This extension, set to add five new stations by 2025, is part of an ambitious expansion plan to connect Thessaloniki’s metro network to the west and eventually to Macedonia Airport.

This challenging and complex project was handled by an experienced legal team led by Managing Partner Constantine Vrettos, with significant contribution from Maria Psarra, Partner, and Iliana Papadopoulou, Senior Associate. Their expertise and dedication ensured seamless legal support, navigating the intricate challenges of a project that faced archaeological discoveries and delays.
